SocialCapitalist Open Day - Creating Opportunities for Inquiring Minds 16/11/2011
SocialCapitalist is a new programme from the Schumacher Institute building new Social Capital in Bristol. We need volunteers interested in sustainability, the green economy and Bristol, for a new programme starting in January 2012.
Unemployed or under-employed young people volunteer to work on short projects that produce a recognisable social benefit for Bristol, and use this as a platform into creating and finding new work.
Volunteers receive careers advice, guidance and mentoring during their placement, as well as a good introduction to and contacts in Bristol's vibrant third sector and sustainability industries. We reimburse travel and lunch expenses during a one-month placement.
We are holding an Open Day for the programme starting in January 2012, in partnership with Spinnaker Associates.
We invite young people (aged 18-30) who want to know more about the scheme to come and talk with us about opportunities on offer. Youth Workers, Employability Professionals and Advice and Guidance Counsellors are very welcome; as are others from Bristol's sustainability and third sectors.
Bristol and Bath Science Park on the 1st November, 29th November (2011) and 12th of January 2012. You are invited to participate....more Contact Alice-Marie Archer for further information
