Entry Requirements

The main qualifications for this programme are life-experience and a desire to learn. As a post-graduate level programme, a first degree of a good standard is a normal requirement. If you are an experienced person but have no first degree, it is likely that your experience and learning will be sufficient qualification and can be accredited. Please ask the programme leader, Martin Sandbrook for further information.

Programme Fees and Bursaries
The fee for this programme is based on an annual charge for tuition, which can either be paid at registration each year or spread over three or twelve instalments. This fee does not include any cost of accommodation.

Number of instalments Amount

12 per year for two years £800 on registration followed by £ 225 per month for 24 months
4 per year for two years £775 per quarter for 8 quarters
One per year for two years £3,000 per year for 2 years

Bursaries, grants and other ways to pay
There are many grants available to support higher education, some of which may be specific to the town, village or parish you live in. You can find details of education grants in larger local libraries. It is well worth investigating this possibility.
If the price of the programme is a barrier to your participation, we can discuss other ways to spread the cost, or link it to the level of benefit you feel the programme is providing. In either event, please contact Martin Sandbrook to discuss possibilities.

Timetable
The programme will begin with the first workshop in October 2012. The remaining workshops will be every 3 months thereafter - the third one being at Schumacher College, see below)

Venue
Most workshops will take place at the Schumacher Institute in the centre of Bristol. The third workshop will take place at Schumacher College, near Totnes in Devon. Charges for accommodation at Schumacher College are NOT included in the programme fee, so you will need to pay these according to what kind of accommodation you choose. We also plan to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in mid-Wales.
